The tasks of the Embassy include the preservation and strengthening of international relations between Indonesia and the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as representing the interests of Indonesia and its citizens abroad.
Tasks of the Embassy of Indonesia
The Embassy of Indonesia in London maintains and enhances the relations between Indonesia and the UK and between Indonesia and Ireland on several different levels. The embassy works to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and security sector. The embassy also has a team dedicated to promoting Indonesia from a social and cultural point of view through the dissemination of information via social media and the contact with the Indonesian population abroad. Furthermore, the Consular Department of the embassy is responsible for providing consular services to Indonesian citizens in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. Consular services include the issuing of Indonesian passports and the legalisation of Indonesian documents.
Visa application at the Embassy of Indonesia
It is possible to apply for different types of visas at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in London. Travellers wishing to apply for a visa for Indonesia through the embassy must create an account on the consular section of the embassy website, fill out a form and attend an interview at the embassy, where they are also required to hand in all the necessary documentation. Travellers who meet the requirements can instead simply apply for an e-visa for Indonesia online without having to visit the embassy. The online e-visa allows travellers to make tourist trips to Indonesia.
Online Indonesia visa application
The visa for tourist travel to Indonesia which can be applied for online is also called an e-visa, electronic visa or B1 visa. This visa type can be applied for completely online and can be downloaded onto a computer, tablet or smartphone once granted. Applying for an e-visa also saves time, as the application process does not require visiting the embassy of Indonesia. Online visas also have a faster processing time. The average delivery time is 2 weeks. However, visa delivery times can never be guaranteed.
