Explanation on the Cuba visa
Are you going on a holiday to Cuba in 2023 or 2024? Then you need a visa. This applies to all inhabitants of the European Union, and to people from the United Kingdom. Even underage children must each possess their own Cuba visa. Tourist visas can be applied for online using the digital application form on this website.
What is the Cuba visa? The Cuba visa is a paper card, which consists of two parts. On both the left and the right part you fill in your nationality, primary first name, last name, date of birth and passport number. After arrival in Cuba, one part is torn off and taken. When leaving the country, the other part needs to be handed over. That is why you should remember to keep the visa with your passport in your hand luggage during your trip. Do not stick it in the passport, but keep it separate.
You are not required to report at the Cuban embassy
By submitting your application online, you save yourself a round trip to the Cuban embassy. The online application procedure also allows you to apply for a visa for someone else. When acquiring a visa through the embassy, you pay a surcharge of £25 per person. If you make use of the online form on this website, you will avoid this surcharge.
Validity duration and requirements
The tourist visa is suitable for a stay in Cuba of up to 90 days. The validity term starts from the moment you arrive in Cuba. Do you want to stay longer? In that case, you can extend the maximum length of stay to 180 days. To do so, visit an immigration office in Cuba. You can apply for the visa as long as you want before departure. This is because there is no expiry date on the visa. However, keep in mind that your passport must still be valid for seven months upon arrival.
Requirements of the Cuba tourist visa:
- Your passport must still be valid for at least seven months on arrival
- No work may be performed in Cuba with the tourist visa
- Minors also need their own visa
