In the United Kingdom, the Oman embassy can be found in London. There is currently no embassy in Ireland. The embassy in the UK does have diverse tasks and powers. Omani citizens can go there for consular services, such as applying for passports or other documents and certificates. However, it is not possible for travellers to apply for the Oman visa through the embassy.

International interest representation

One of the main tasks of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman is to represent the country's interests internationally. As a result, cooperation agreements can be established in various areas. For example, new economic agreements can be decided or joint political decisions made. In addition, the embassy contributes to cultural and scientific exchange between Oman and other countries.

Consular services

A second core task of Oman's embassies is to provide support to Omani citizens abroad and other persons with ties to Oman. Specifically, service provision consists of the following tasks:

  • Support for lost passports and other identity documents. The lost identity document can be invalidated at the embassy, provided that the loss has been reported to the police.
  • Provision of certificates and other official documents. The embassy processes passport applications, as well as applications for birth certificates and other documents. In this way, Omanis who are abroad can receive official documents.
  • Emergency assistance. In emergencies, Omanis abroad can contact the embassy.

Issuing visas for travel to Oman is not part of the Embassy's duties. In fact, visa applications are processed and vetted by the Omani police. Therefore, to apply for an Oman visa, an online form must be submitted to the Oman Police.

Apply for the Oman visa online

Visa applications for Oman are processed by the Omani police. They assess whether an applicant can be allowed to travel to the country. If you submit the visa application carefully and completely, there is a high chance that your application will be approved. You can apply for the Oman visa by going through the following steps:

  1. First, check that your passport is still valid for at least 6 months from your planned date of arrival in Oman. If this is not the case, then apply for a new passport first.
  2. Open the Oman visa application form.
  3. Fill in all of the information truthfully and carefully.
  4. Pay the fees, which are € 49,95 per traveller.
  5. Digitally submit the required passport scan and passport photo.

After you have paid the fee and submitted the required documents, your application will be handed over to the Omani police. Based on the information and documents provided, the police will check whether you could possibly pose a danger to public order in Oman. Should this be the case, your application will be rejected. However, this is very exceptional. In most cases, visa applications are approved without any problems.

e-Visa.ie is a commercial and professional visa agency, and supports travellers in obtaining, among others, the Oman visa. e-Visa.ie is an official partner of the International Air Transport Association, IATA, with membership number 57231226, acts as an intermediary, is no law firm, nor does it employ lawyers, does not provide legal advice, and is in no way part of any government. You can also apply for a visa directly with the immigration service (11,62 EUR per visa, via evisa.rop.gov.om). However, not with our level of support. If you submit your application via e-Visa.ie, our support centre is available to you 24/7. In addition, we manually check your application and all the documents you provide before submitting it to the immigration authorities on your behalf. If we suspect any errors or omissions while doing so, we will personally contact you to ensure that your application can still be processed quickly and correctly. To use our services, you pay us 11,62 EUR in consular fees, which we pay to the immigration service on your behalf, as well as € 38,33 in service fees as compensation for our services, including VAT. Our services have saved many travellers from major problems during their trip. Should an application be rejected despite our support and verification, we will refund the full purchase price (unless an application for a previous Oman visa was rejected for the same traveller).
