The electronic visa for Indonesia

This electronic visa is suitable for most trips to Indonesia and has a validity period of 90 days. The visa allows you to stay in the country for a maximum of 30 days, with the possibility of extension. To apply for the visa, you must meet a number of conditions. Required documents on arrival in Indonesia
Upon arrival in Indonesia, a number of documents of all incoming travellers are checked by immigration authorities. These documents are used to determine whether the traveller in question is allowed to enter the country. Upon arrival in Indonesia, make sure you can show the following documents:


  • a passport valid for at least 6 months upon departure from Indonesia;
  • a valid Indonesia visa;
  • a ticket for your return or transit trip from Indonesia;
  • proof that you have sufficient financial resources for your stay in Indonesia.

Requirements regarding your passport and nationality

To travel to Indonesia, you need a passport. The e-visa Indonesia can be applied for with a passport issued by an EU country, such as the Netherlands or Belgium, but also with the passport of some other countries, such as the UK, Switzerland or Norway. Are you unsure whether you are eligible? Then check whether you areeligible for the e-visa Indonesia with your nationality and passport.

The passport you use to apply for the visa must be the same passport you use to travel to Indonesia. This must be a regular passport. So you cannot apply for the e-visa using an ID card, emergency passport, diplomatic passport or any other type of travel document. In addition, your passport must still be valid for at least 6 months at the time you leave Indonesia again. Does your passport not meet these conditions? Then apply for a new passport before applying for a visa. This is because during the visa application process a digital copy of the passport must be provided.

Requiremetns regarding your travel purpose and activities

The Indonesia e-Visa On Arrival is suitable for tourist and business travel. You may use the visa to travel to Bali for a holiday, among other things, but also to attend business meetings in Indonesia. The following activities are allowed with the e-visa:

  • Visiting friends and family;
  • Tourist activities;
  • Attending business meetings;
  • Attending business meetings with the Indonesian government;
  • Buying goods;
  • Making a stopover;
  • Visiting a fair;
  • Visiting exhibitions.

The following activities are not allowed with an e-visa:

  • entering into employment with an Indonesian employer;
  • carrying out paid acitivities (except buisness activities for an employer outside Indonesia);
  • actinv as a speaker at an event.
