Indonesia has introduced the new “All Indonesia” arrival card. Travelers must complete this digital arrival card in advance. Besides the arrival card, travelers still need an (e-)visa.
Testing phase in September
Before the card is implemented, the Indonesian authorities have planned a trial period starting on September 1. During the testing phase, travelers will have to fill in the arrival card on arrival to Jakarta, Bali, or Surabaya airports.
The Indonesian government has recently introduced the new online portal All Indonesia, where travelers will be able to fill in the entry form in the future. The arrival card is an addition to the mandatory (e-)visa for Indonesia.
The All Indonesia portal
The purpose of the portal is to centralise in one single website all the procedures and formalities for arriving in Indonesia. Travelers will be able to complete all the procedures for immigration, customs, and health declarations on the same site. Previously, several steps on multiple websites were needed.
Travellers need to fill in the below data in the new entry form:
- Personal data
- Arrival and departure dates
- Arrival location and flight number (or cruise number)
- Name of hotel/accommodation
- Health declaration
- Customs and goods to be imported
The arrival card will be mandatory at all airports as of October 1
In accordance to the Indonesian government's plans, the new arrival card will become mandatory at all airports in the country in October, after the end of the testing phase. It is still uncertain if the new measure will also apply to travelers arriving at seaports or land border crossings in Indonesia. In any case, filling in the arrival card is free of charge.
The form can also be completed on arrival.
Travelers can fill in the entry form on All Indonesia 3 days prior to arrival in Indonesia. Those who forget to fill in the arrival card before departure, can still do so on arrival to the airport in Indonesia. The immigration service has placed QR codes at the airport that redirect travelers directly to All Indonesia. In addition to the website, the Indonesian immigration service has also made available an app that travelers can use.
The Indonesian immigration service strongly recommends filling in the arrival card before arriving in the country. Since the information needs to be processed, filling in the entry form at the last minute, can cause waiting times and delays at customs.
Complicated formalities to go on holiday?
In general, the formalities required to go on a holiday to Indonesia are quite limited. If you are going to holiday to Indonesia for up to 30 days, you'd better apply for an e-visa. This is a digital travel authorization that you can apply for online. There is no need to visit the embassy. On this website, you will find an application form with helpful explanations for each field you need to fill in. Click here for further information about the requirements. Most applications are approved within 7 days. Submit an urgent application if you are flying soon. You will most likely receive your visa within 24 hours. That way, you will arrive stress-free at your dream destination.
