The Cambodia visa validity should not be confused with the maximum length of stay. As soon as your application is approved the validity starts. This is 90 days. During this period you can stay in Cambodia for a maximum of 30 consecutive days with your visa.

Start of the validity term

The validity term starts from the moment that your application for the Cambodia visa is approved. Usually, processing and approval takes a maximum of 7 days. If you make use of the urgent option, usually even within 4 days. The visa is sent by e-mail straight after approval. From that moment, you can pass the passport check in Cambodia.

Can I apply for my visa in advance?

As soon as the Cambodia visa is approved, the validity term of 90 days starts. However, approval never takes place more than 30 days before the expected date of arrival. The expected date of arrival is the date of arrival which you fill in on the application form. If you submit your application more than 30 days before this expected date of arrival, your application will be put on hold. You will then be notified about 25 to 30 days before the expected date of arrival whether your request has been approved. Rejections for tourists trips are extremely rare. You can therefore apply for your Cambodia visa as early in advance as you wish.

Be careful with expiring validity

Expiration of the validity
Ninety days after granting, the validity of the Cambodia visa expires. You need to make sure to not only arrive before the expiration of the validity, but also to leave Cambodia before that moment.

Maximum length of stay

With the visa for Cambodia you can enter the country once. This visit can last a maximum of 30 days. If you leave the country for whatever reason and want to come back at a later date, you need to apply for a new visa.

Flexible arrival

Because the validity (90 days) is longer than the maximum length of stay (30 days), it is possible to postpone the actual date of arrival. In the application form you indicate the expected date of arrival. Beware that you can only enter Cambodia after receiving the visa. You receive the visa right after approval, but granting takes place a maximum of 30 days before the filled in date of arrival. Because applications can sometimes be processed for a few days, it can happen that the validity of the visa starts 23 to 28 days before the filled in date of arrival.

Only valid if you meet the requirements

Aside from the validity as mentioned above, you also need to keep the Cambodia visa requirements in mind. Only if you meet those criteria will your Cambodia visa be valid during your planned stay.
